Outside of its mission to provide real estate-related legal services to clients, Codilis and Associates supports charitable organizations. One of the many organizations that Codilis & Associates supports is Mercy Home for Boys & Girls.
In April 2021, Mercy Home for Boys & Girls announced that it had received a $20,000 grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL). The grant was a part of the COVID-19 Community Collaboration Fund created to help those who assisted the community and relieve some of the financial pressure that arose from the year-long pandemic. Since its inception in 1887, Mercy Home for Boys & Girls has offered community-based programs to help children in crisis. The program offers a safe home, emotional healing, life-changing opportunities, and education to the children in its care. With the infusion of the BCBSIL grant, Mercy Home can continue its mission. BCBSIL gave a total of 175 grants to organizations throughout Illinois to address hunger, access to care, behavioral health care, shelter, and COVID education and vaccines. Realizing the impact of the pandemic on the community, BCBSIL rose to the challenge to help those who help the residents most affected by COVID-19.

Located in Burr Ridge, Illinois, Codilis and Associates represents clients in need of real estate law assistance. The team at Codilis & Associates is associated with the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).
ISBA has created the Rural Practice Fellowship Program to assist law firms in small towns and rural communities by connecting with law clerks, law students, and new attorneys. The program was created as a result of data that showed only 0.7 lawyers are available per 1,000 residents in more than half of the counties in Illinois. The numbers also revealed that in 35 of the state’s counties, 10 or fewer attorneys are in private practice, and in 13 counties, five or fewer attorneys are in private practice. Many counties have no more than two or three lawyers in private practice. This shortage has resulted in the ISBA creating two fellowship programs to attract attorneys to Illinois. The Rural Practice Summer Fellows Program, a $5,000 fellowship, was designed to attract law students to small Illinois communities to get a taste of rural law before they graduate. The Rural Practice Associate Fellows Program, which also provides the attorney with a $5,000 stipend, places new attorneys and lawyers who have recently graduated with rural practitioners and gives them an additional $5,000 stipend if they are still with the firm after one year. Based in Burr Ridge, Illinois, Codilis and Associates offers clients real estate-related legal services. Codilis & Associates belongs to the Chicago Bar Association (CBA).
In February 2021, CBA recognized minority lawyers through the Earl B. Dickerson Award, which honors distinguished law practitioners for their excellent work. The award was named after an outstanding lawyer and one of the first African Americans to be admitted to the CBA. Mr. Dickerson is remembered for his dedication and commitment to helping others access equality and justice. The award is given to law practitioners whose professional careers emulate that of Earl B. Dickerson. Honorable David Coar, Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman, Patrick Dankwa John, and Greta Weathersby were honored in a virtual ceremony held in February 2021. According to CBA President Maryam Ahmad, the contributions of these award recipients have helped make the justice system fair and support equitable treatment of all who come before the court. |
